Literature Text

Once upon a time, there lived a small boy in a village. This boy was very shy and sweet. He had blonde hair and blue eyes and wore a blue and gold shirt along with black pants. He lived a life filled with sorrow and pain. The boy always felt so alone. He would look to others seeking their help, but all they would bring him was more problems, sadness, and dread.

Then one day, the young small boy had left his small town and went into the forest; the one place where no one would judge him. He sat in the very center of the woods on a stump and cried. But then an angelic voice came to him. “Why is it that you cry dear boy?” The boy looked up, slightly alarmed. He searched the area, and saw no one; but the voice continued. “Are you sad?” He looked all around and his eyes came across a small butterfly. He held out his hands as the small butterfly with wings of florescent blue sat in them. The boy continued to sob. “I’m all alone... I am so hated and rejected... No one ever helps me... I’m trapped in world of a sorrow.” The butterfly looked very sad. She wanted to make the boy smile. She flew out of his hands and tried everything in her power to make him happy.

The Iced Butterfly did magic tricks, told jokes, and told stories. All of which had failed. The boy didn’t even crack a smile and continued to sob. The butterfly was running out of ideas quickly. She thought for a moment and finally came up with something. She flew right up to the boy’s face. “Would you like to dance?” The boy looked at the butterfly with confusion. “Dance… with a butterfly?” He thought. He slowly nodded as he wiped away his tears. The Iced Butterfly’s wings began to glow with excitement. She used her magic to make a lovely music box made out of snow. A tune played as the butterfly danced around the poor boy. The boy closes his eyes and hums along to song feeling a little less down. The butterfly looked and saw that boy wasn’t crying anymore. This brought her so much joy as her wings glowed brighter.

The boy’s eyes then opened and saw the beautiful butterfly’s wings. He watched in awe as her wings kept shining. He opened up his hands for the butterfly to land. She accepted the invitation and looked up to the boy with a smile on her face. “You don’t have to be alone anymore dear boy. I will always be here, if you’ll allow it.” The boy began to smile and nodded. This made the butterfly so happy, her whole body started to shine a bright neon blue. The boy watched in amazement as the butterfly turned into a small girl. She appeared slightly older than the boy and her eyes were also a crystal blue. Her raven black hair went all the way down to her back and she wore a glittering blue dress that twinkled under the full moon. Her beautiful light blue wings remained on her backside as they began to dim. She slowly reaches out her hand. “How about a real dance?” she asked.

The boy smiled bigger and placed his hand in hers. The Iced Butterfly brought him close to her. She started to spread her majestic wings as they were being slowly lifted off the ground. The girl rested her head on the boy’s shoulder as they slowly danced on air. Higher and higher they went without a single care in the world. They used the moon as a spotlight and they took the stage. The Iced Butterfly whispered in the boy’s ear, “I’ll always be here for you… I promise. I’ll make sure you’re never alone.” The young boy started crying tears of joy. He grasped on tighter to his new beloved friend as they continued to dance under the stars.

Then the music began to fade and the butterfly was slowly sinking back towards the ground. The butterfly stopped dancing and hugged the boy tightly. She was so happy the boy wasn’t sad anymore. “I love you.” She said. The boy started to blush and returned the hug. He smiled and said, “I love you too, my Blessed Butterfly.”

Once they reached the ground, he still hugged her and went to sit down, dragging her down as well. The boy then kept whispering, “Thank you… Thank you…” The butterfly’s wings started to glow again. She wanted to make sure the boy stayed happy, so she thought to do something very special for him. She closed her eyes while she concentrated. She let go of the boy and she backed away from him. She opened her eyes and gazed upon the gift she had given him: a pair of wings.

The boy felt something odd on his back. He was in shock to see the wings that had suddenly grown behind him. He reached back and gently brought one of them closer to him. The color, the detailing and the softness had amazed him. He looked towards his friend and smiled from ear to ear. The butterfly giggled and laced her fingers into the boy’s. “How about one more dance? To test out your new wings?” She looked at him endearingly. The boy nodded in response. He blushed as he saw the butterfly’s fingers entwined in his. She laughed even more seeing the boy’s face turning red. She stared at the ice music box she made, and played a different melody.

The butterfly started to flap her wings bringing the boy along with her and slowly began ascending off the ground. The boy tried to flap his wings as he closed his eyes. This was a new experience for him so he kept flapping them quickly. The Iced Butterfly laughed on how cute the boy was trying to learn to fly. She then decided to give him a few pointers. “Relax.” She said. “What I like to do is focus on what makes me happy…” She held his hands tighter and turned a hot red. “Come on, give it a try.” They both shared the same color red in their faces but soon enough the boy slowed the motion in his new wings. He soon started to rise on his own and slip out of the girls hands.

The butterfly shouted out in joy. “You’re doing it! You’re flying!” She was so happy she soared up to him and held him tight. She let go of him and grabbed both of the boy’s hands instead. The two of them then continued to dance. The butterfly danced with majesty and grace and spun around the boy. They were having such a good time neither one of them wanted to stop. The butterfly let out a joyous laugh while the boy whistled along to the tune. Suddenly, a bunch of butterfly’s; all of which were just like the Iced Butterfly, accompanied the two dancers. The butterfly held onto the boy’s hands as they soared higher, while the smaller butterflies followed. The girl watched in awe by the beauty of it all. She even made it lightly snow out of all the excitement. But then a sad look came across her porcelain face, for the song was ending.

The boy looked up towards the moon and smiled as he felt the beams. He whispered, "To fly... To be free... It feels good... Especially having the moon warming you with its pale rays...” The boy then looked at his Blessed Butterfly. “With you… I am always free." The girl’s sparkly blue eyes began to water. She placed her head onto the boy’s chest and cried tears of joy. “You have no idea how happy I am to hear that. I’m so glad.” The butterfly then started to return into her original form: a small insect. Her wings began to dim once again. The boy; however, was smiling. He descended back to the ground with her in his hands and went back home. With his Blessed Iced Butterfly, he would never be sad or alone again.

Je lis régulièrement les textes des personnes me passant sous le regard, sans commenter, puisque je m'approprie les textes et les émotions évoquer sans en partager mon propres ressentis. Toutefois ce texte me touche personnellement.
